Hate it. Can't stand it. And I really, really mean it!!!
I don't know when it started or how long for sure it has been going on. I have vague memories of going to the mall with friends in high school (that wasn't too long ago!) and hanging out. So it must be more recent than that.
However and whenever it started, it exists today. I hate shopping with a passion.
Not too long ago I went shopping for maternity clothes. And to say I had a bad experience is probably an understatement. I started sweating and almost had a mild panic attack. It was horrendous.
Yesterday I took my mom clothes shopping. I walked around with her, picking up clothes, helping her in the dressing room, etc. I lasted a while.
And then I broke. It was time to go. [Since my mom has MS she was about ready to leave too so it wasn't an issue].
It shocks my MIL who lives to shop. My FIL can’t believe a woman doesn’t like shopping. Can’t comprehend it! My MIL wanted to take me shoe shopping and honestly I lasted about 3 minutes before I started getting warm and uncomfortable and decided to end the experience.
The only difference? Food shopping. I don’t mind going food shopping … for some weird reason!
I am the same way. I think my issue is with how body perception. I don’t like how I look in 99.9%of what I try on so why torture myself with the experience at all? When I do HAVE to buy something I either power shop at a place I can feel confident will have something that will suffice and run in and run out. Or I order something online so I can avoid leaving the security of my house.
You aren’t alone. Clothes shopping stinks!
Ok first of all you are gorgeous and I’m sure you really look amazing in everything!!!
I’m sure that’s part of my issue. But why the issue with shopping for my mother?? Then again … it was a nice surprise that everything fit in the maternity store (well the three things in my size). But I still hated the experience.
