Whole Foods Natural Approaches to Immune Support {Review and Giveaway}

Summer is officially over, fall is upon us and winter is right around the corner!  Although I’m thrilled to put the hot, humid days of summer behind me and personally LOVE snow and cold weather, one thing I don’t love is the cold and flu season that fall/winter brings!  I get at least one bad cold every year.  Without fail.

Now in the past, that has meant stocking up on cold medicine and downing as much orange juice as I possibly could.

But this year we’re going to be TTC [trying to conceive] and a lot of cold medicines are not good for pregnant women!  So that …. naturally … makes me interested in natural cures for the cold and flu season.  What can I take that’s healthy for my body but will also combat a cold or flu that’s developing and/or prevent one from starting?

Lucky for me, Whole Foods has again created three podcasts that discuss how to stay healthy during cold and flu season and homeopathic cures if you do get sick.  The first two, “Homeopathy for Cold and Flu Season” and “Understanding the Immune System for Winter Wellness” are already up on Whole Foods’ website.  A third podcast, “Seasonal Wellness Shopping List” where a nutrition consultant will discuss specific herbs and nutrients available at Whole Foods to help support your immune system, will be posted on October 29th.

To encourage readers to learn more about healthy and natural preventative measures and treatments during cold and flu season, Whole Foods is offering a $20 Whole Foods gift card giveaway to one lucky reader!  I don’t know about you, but there is a lot I could buy with that money at Whole Foods!

    Summer Davis: Your comment is awaiting moderation. I had no idea that homeopathic drugs were regulated by the FDA! That doesn’t make me think that they work any better, but it’s interesting to know. I haven’t used homeopathy on my family but I do use natural remedies when they get sick. My favorite is Elderberry, which we use in conjunction with peppermint tea sweetened lightly with honey.
